Company Profile
History
XSimulate was formed in June 2006 after a group of flight simulator enthusiasts and sofware developers came up with the idea of creating high quality, yet affordable products for everyone to use.
Vision
XSimulate's vision is to create high quality, affordable, yet useable products for everyone. Whether you are a newcomer to flight simulator, or an experienced professional, we strive to fullfil your demands.
Meet the Team
Ben Jones
Ben is currently overseeing the day to day running of the group. Having recently graduated from University in the UK with a degree in engineering, he first entered the flightsim community with FS98 where he quickly become an accomplished graphical designer, and having spent years creating textures for the likes of PSS and iFDG amongst others, he also now puts his skills to corporate imaging and website design, including XSimulates very own.
Ben Alfoldi
Ben is the lead modeler, and the founder of the project. Operating as the group's owner, Ben's other jobs include finances and dealing with publishing. He is a university student, resides in Budapest, Hungary and has founded many successful groups including Project AI. He has been making models since FS95.
Shane Olguin
Shane Olguin is the team's California-based flight dynamics editor. He is a university student, US Army reservist, and full-time Trijet enthusiast. He has been editing and creating new flight dynamics since the first Combat Flight Simulator. He excels at FDE creation because of his ability to manipulate the dynamics to perform to the specification of published performance charts, and handle to the specifications of the real DC-10 pilots.
Mike Maarse
Mike (at the moment) is employed by an international freight forwarder, needless to say he's on the airfreight department. He always had a keen interest in aviation, especially aero engine sounds. Doesn't matter if it's an old radial or a state of the art Boeing 777 engine passing overhead, it's always beautiful, sometimes just like music! He started simming with FS5.1 (back in the day) and has started messing with sounds since FS98. Now it's time for the real deal, creating a soundset for the XSimulate DC-10!
Jacob Kubique
Jacob, 19 from Melbourne Austtralia is currently pursuing undergraduate studies at Victoria University. In his second year he is a Bachelors of Computer Science and Aviation. In the year of 2001 he began to acquire a keen interest in aviation, brought on by testing out FS2000. In 2002 he then began to fall in love with Virtual cockpits. In 2003 he began freelance painting, this gathering momentum and culmination in his joining Project Open sky in 2006. He later moved into modelling Virtual Cockpits and joins XSimulate as the leed creator of the DC10 VC.
Kyle Schurb
Kyle is currently entering what may be his final year at the University of North Dakota, majoring in Aviation Management. He holds a pilot certificate and plans on flying corporate aircraft some time after graduating. Kyle has been around aviation his whole life, with his most memorable childhood experiences being when his father served with the US Navy's Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Team. Painting aircraft since the days of FS2000, Kyle brings a wealth of experience to XSimulate in designing graphics for 2D panels as well as exterior liveries and also manages the group's US Relations.
Karl Hurst
Karl is currently in his last year at high school and expects to attend college and study aeronautics. Karl is currently a member of the Air Training Corps, and has a keen interest in aviation and Flight Simulation. Once Karl has successfully graduated he intends on entering the Royal Air Force as an officer of engineering.
